Centerpiece with anthuriums
We recently did a wedding at Villa CSH where the bride requested a muted colour palette whilst still keeping a tropical feel. We kept the colour scheme to whites, creams and greens and used local flowers like orchids and anthuriums.

I love these Rachel Ashwell candles from her line “Shabby Chic”. The muted pastels and the shiny silver coupled with the antique feel makes these candles a very pretty and eye catching addition to a wedding ceremony. I think I would use them positioned down the wedding aisle in clusters of four or five.

Top Tips for Bridal Make-Up Abroad
- Flash Photography emphasizes pink tones so be sure to even out skin with a yellow-toned foundation. Also brilliant for covering up sunburn.
- Set concealer and foundation with a loose powder to make them longer-lasting and to ensure that skin looks matte in pictures.
- In the hot climate we recommend using foundation with a high SPF factor.
- Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated and your skin looking fresh.
- Choose a long lasting waterproof mascara in case your emotions get the better of you.
- Before applying foundation, apply a primer. This will form a barrier between your skin and makeup, ensuring your makeup lasts as well as keeping colours true. It also keeps makeup out of your pores.
- False eyelashes are a brilliant way of opening out your eyes. Applying a few single lashes for extra emphasis is a great bridal trick and the perfect way to perk up eyes. Or try eyelash extensions, they last for around 2 months and give you that extra eye definition you’ve always wanted without any effort.
- Indulge yourself with a spa wrap. This treatment polishes and exfoliates the body which gently encourages new, healthy skin to emerge whilst removing all traces of dull, dry skin. It leaves you feeling wonderful and your new husband wont be able to take his hands off your silky smooth body!
- Be careful with fake tan, if you become hot and start to sweat the tan may rub off onto your wedding dress.
- Have a manicure - you’ll be surprised how often your hands get photographed.
- Look yourself - if you’ve never worn bright blue eye-shadow don’t start doing so on your wedding day.
- Don’t forget to wear a fabulous perfume!
